Alon Carmelly is a double bass player ( contrabass ) and composer. He was a member and bass player for "The Apples" an indie nuFunk based out of Tel Aviv that toured Europe's clubs and festival for 4 years. Alon recorded two albums with "The Apples" One of them recorded In Peter Gabriel's recoding studio followed by a performance in Womad - world music festival. * Cut n Bass are a rare musical metropolis emerging out of Tel Aviv's underground scene. They combine electronic sampling with an electrifying live performance that represent east and west, the old and the new. The unconventional lineup has a heavy drum beat, an electric upright bass, clarinet, synth and cutting edge sound effects. Together they combine their roots, which are deeply planted in middle eastern tradition to create a mesmerizing live performance that is truly cross cultured.
